Director, Consulting Services

Judy Tabak currently serves as Director, Consulting Services for Wentworth Recruiting, where she has managed consulting assignments across a broad array of positions and industries. 

Judy has more than 25 years of experience in human resources executive and consultancy roles, with a particular focus on talent management and acquisition, performance management and transitioning organizations through significant change.

Known for quickly grasping the future-state needs of an organization, Judy has recruited and assembled values-aligned, world-class leadership teams that have transformed both well-known and start-up organizations.  Judy has developed highly effective talent acquisition, selection, development and employee transition approaches, resulting in double-digit improvements in retention, organizational performance and employee engagement.

Judy served nine years as Vice-President of Human Resources for the Decurion Corporation (ArcLight Cinemas, Robertson Properties Group and Pacific Theatres).  At Decurion, she partnered with senior leadership on an organizational transformation that changed the corporate culture from command and control to merit-driven, successfully launched a pioneering new movie exhibition business, sold off unproductive assets and significantly reduced G&A costs.

With a strong focus on building a critical mass of values-aligned leadership, Judy and her team recruited and selected numerous key members of the leadership, operations, finance and IT teams. During her tenure, she developed employment branding, recruitment and selection strategies that placed the right people in the right “seats” and yielded turnover reductions of 30-70%.

Other roles included Director of Talent Management for DFS, where she oversaw all human resources and development for North American operations, VP of HR for Interactive Video Technologies (IVT) where she launched a new web professional services company and a five year engagement as a consultant for Disney Consumer Products.  At DCP, she played a vital role in staffing new business launches, such as Disney Interactive and Disney Online, and in leading global organizational change and employee transition initiatives.

Over the course of her career, she has supported numerous industry leaders during rapid expansions, downsizings, mergers, divestitures, turnarounds, and new business launches. 

Judy is also involved in the community, serving as an Account Director for the Taproot Foundation, leading teams of consultants to make a difference in non-profit organizations.  Her work for Taproot has focused on board of director capacity-building, involving board of director gap analysis, organizational design, performance infrastructures and recruitment and selection approaches.


Judy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the State University of New York and was certified as an SPHR in 2009.
